MatNotes BJJ (“the app”) is a training notebook for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling. It is provided by Remstalist Studios e.U. (Austria), the controller of your data. This policy explains what the app stores and why.
To provide the app: signing you in, storing your notes and media, and syncing them across your devices (legal basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We email you only for account purposes, such as confirming your address.
We also look at statistics built from this data, such as the number of accounts, active users, uploads and storage used, to run and improve the app and keep its costs under control. These are counts and totals; we don't look at what your notes or techniques say (legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, affordable service, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Nothing is shared with analytics or advertising companies.
Picking media needs no permission. If you turn on “Remove originals from Photos”, the app asks for Photos access, and only to delete the originals you uploaded. iOS asks you to confirm each deletion.
If you share a class plan, anyone with that link can view the plan's structure (segments, times, technique names), but never your photos or videos. Turning sharing off disables the link immediately.
Your data is stored in the European Union:
This website is delivered by Cloudflare's global network. It doesn't store any personal data, only short-lived technical logs (see below). Supabase and Cloudflare are US companies. Where they may access data from outside the EU (for example for support or security), this is covered by the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. To deliver the pages and protect them against abuse, our hosting provider Cloudflare briefly processes technical data of each request (such as IP address, time, requested page and browser type). We don't use this data to identify you or build profiles (legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare keeps such logs only for a short time.
As long as you have an account. Items you delete go to the Trash and are removed permanently after 48 hours. You can delete your account in the app (Account → Delete Account). This permanently erases your account, all your content and all your uploaded media.
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and you can object to or restrict its processing. Contact us at hello@matnotes.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria, that is the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at).
The app is not directed at children under 16.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
